“A closer look at Samsung’s most powerful flagship in the new S10 lineup — the Galaxy S10 5G”
Now, for the most part, the Galaxy S10 5G is the same as the Galaxy S10+ and therefore, I’ll recommend you hop on over to our in-depth review of the device to get insights into the smartphone’s design and display. The only aesthetic change on the 5G variant of the smartphone is its size. The S10 5G is the biggest device in Samsung’s lineup and the smartphone ships with a 6.7-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display — you wouldn’t be wrong if you called it a tablet. Furthermore, the device comes with the most cameras of the lot too as it ships with four sensors on the back. While the specs of the main shooter, the telephoto shooter, and the wide-angle lens remain the same as the S10+, the S10 5G now also features a depth-sensor with hQVGA resolution.
The 5G version also has the most battery as it packs in a 4,500mAh cell. But, the USP of the device is that it is the company’s first 5G smartphone. Sure, 5G networks aren’t up and running at the moment, but the company did showcase the phone’s network prowess at its booth in MWC. In one of the demoes, the Galaxy S10 5G was able to seamlessly switch between 4K streams of various camera angles in the MLB app with almost negligible latency.
Interestingly, while the smartphone displayed a 5G icon on the notification bar, the preferred network was set to LTE in the settings. Unfortunately, folks on the show floor weren’t much help as they’d been told to tell the press that the 5G setting couldn’t be displayed for some reason. Therefore, I’d advise you to take my experience basis these demoes with a pinch of salt.
Regardless, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is a beautiful flagship. It’s also extremely powerful as it’s backed by the latest silicone in the industry and is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and a terabyte of built-in storage. I clicked a bunch of pics of the device, so I’ll let you feast your eyes on what is without a shadow of the doubt, Samsung’s most ambitious handset yet.
