Swine flu: One dies, 11 others test positive
TNN | Feb 28, 2019, 04:00 ISTSurat: One person died of swine flu while 11 others tested positive for H1N1 virus in Surat city and rural areas on Wednesday. Of the 11 new cases nine were from the city and two from Surat rural area.
The Health officials of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Wednesday issued notices to two hospitals for not reporting swine flu cases as per prescribed guidelines. These hospitals include Samarpan General Hospital and Venus Hospital.
According to health officials, these hospital authorities under category B and C have to inform about patients to the district or municipal administration along with information on the facility available at their premises for isolation ward.
Two new cases reported from the Surat rural area include 54-year-old male from Kamrej and 56-year-old male from Olpad. The deceased was a 65-year-old -male from Bardoli.
Nine persons infected with H1N1 virus in city include five male and four female.
Three patients were discharged from various city hospital after treatment.
However, 31 patients were still receiving treatment in different city hospitals. Condition of 25 was stated to be stable whereas two were on life support.
