Eyewitness footage posted to social media late on Tuesday (February 26) showed billowing smoke and large flames from a huge fire on Saddleworth Moor.

Sky News reported the fire late on Tuesday which broke out in the Greater Manchester region in England.

Other details were not immediately available.

Last year, Greater Manchester Police declared a moorland fire a 'major incident' after dozens of local residents were evacuated from homes.
