Jasprit Bumrah surpassed the tally of 50 T20I wickets with a great spell of 3-16 during the 1st T20 match between India and Australia. Bumrah now has 51 wickets from 41 matches. He became the only second Indian bowler after Ravichandran Ashwin to bag more than 50 wickets in T20Is.
With this achievement in pocket, Bumrah is eyeing another feat during the 2nd T20 against Australia at Bengaluru. Bumrah, is just one wicket behind R Ashwin, who has 52 wickets in 46 T20I matches. Ashwin is also the leading Indian wicket-taker at present. If Bumrah manages to claim two wickets, he will surpass Ashwin to become the leading wicket-taker for India in T20Is.
With the form the right-handed pacer is in at present, there are great chances of him achieving the feat. Indian cricket fans will be excited to watch out for this achievement in the match at M Chinnaswamy stadium. India lost the first T20I match against Australia by 3 wickets. The second and the last T20I will be played today (February 27) and India will look to claim victory under any circumstances, as a defeat will mean losing the T20 series as well.
