Two more die of H1N1, toll touches 26
TNN | Feb 28, 2019, 04:00 ISTVadodara: Two more patients, both women, succumbed to swine flu in Vadodara taluka on Wednesday, taking the death toll in the city and the district to 26 since January 1.
While one woman died in a private hospital, another passed away at the state-run SSG Hospital at around 1.30 pm.
On the same day, 14 new samples also tested positive of H1N1 virus. Of these cases, 10 patients are residents of areas falling within the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) limits from Kapurai, Ramdevnagar, Warasiya, Chhani, Makarpura, Diwalipura and Tarsali areas. Garudeshwar from neighbouring district of Narmada and Godhra of Panchmahals besides Jambuva in Madhya Pradesh and Jaipur in Rajasthan have one patient each.
The total number of swine flu positive cases in VMC limits on Wednesday reached 297 since January 1. Of these, 216 patients have been cured while 64 are currently under treatment and 17 have died. In Vadodara district, the total number of swine flu positive cases stands at 62. Of this, 42 patients have been cured, 11 are under treatment and nine have died due to the virus.tnn
