An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Shopian’s Memander area of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces cordoned off the area after receiving inputs about the presence of terrorists. The security forces conducted a search operation along with police officers in the area. Intermittent exchange of fire also took place between the two sides. The security forces have continued their crack down on Jaish-e-Mohammed militants after the terror outfit claimed responsibility of Pulwama attack that claimed 40 lives of CRPF personnel on February 14, 2019.
