  • Rick Polanski was forced to hide in the bathroom when gang attacked at 5am
  • The four armed men then fled the scene in Elizabeth Grove, Adelaide's north
  • Polanski had been shot at two weeks earlier and suffered wound to his nipple

A man who was shot in the nipple two weeks ago has now been attacked by a gang of axe-wielding men who smashed their way into his home.

Richard Polanski, 26, and two others were forced to hide in a bathroom when four armed men stormed a home in Elizabeth Grove, the northern suburbs of Adelaide, on Wednesday morning.

The attackers threatened Mr Polanski before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services were called to the home on Deptford Street at about 5.20am and the victim, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to hospital.

Mr Polanski, who survived a gunshot wound on February 16, did not seem too fazed by the second terrifying experience, The Advertiser reported.

'I'm all right, it's nothing out the normal,' the 26-year-old said.

'I don't care, they'd have to shoot me in the head.'

Mr Polanski, who suffered a deep forehead cut on Wednesday, was quick to admit he was lucky to be alive after his first attack but claimed those responsible should be wary because he'll be better prepared next time.

A woman who barricaded herself in the bathroom during the attack said the gang smashed the door with axes.

'We'd all be dead if we didn't hide in the bathroom,' she said.

Police suspect the incident was not a random attack.

Last week, a car in front of the property was burned down and Mr Polanski suspects the perpetrators are linked.

Following the first attack, Mr Polanski called himself 'Hercules' while speaking to media in a hospital gown the day after he was shot at.

'I'm God, you can't kill me,' he said to 9News.

The alleged shooter and his female partner confronted Mr Polanski in suburban Adelaide at midnight.

Polanski charged at the pair while being shot at and they all fell on top of each other.

The alleged gunman's partner and Polanski were both shot while they were piled on the ground.

The couple escaped on a scooter before dumping it and running, according to witnesses.

Polanski was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition.

A metal pole was drawn in a nearby stand-off just before the shooting.

Police charged the alleged shooter with acts likely to cause harm and discharging a firearm in a public place.

Police are urging anyone with information on Wednesday's incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
