Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat hailed the Indian Air Force bombers attacking terror camps on Tuesday in Pakistan as a befitting reply. “Killing of the 40 CRPF jawans was avenged in an apt manner as the attack came exactly in the form of teravi shraddh (13th day ritual),” said Bhagwat.
“It was more appropriate that the Indian attack coincided with the death anniversary of freedom fighter Sawarkar. Indeed a fitting tribute for the icon who believed in India becoming a powerfully armed and strong nation. Today Sawarkar was vindicated when India showed to the world its might,” said the RSS chief.
He took note of the IAF action in the opening remarks of his speech at a function organized by Swantraveer Sawarkar Smarak Samiti to honour India’s IT leader and Param Supercomputer architect Dr Vijay Bhatkar.
“Sawarkar believed goodness made no sense unless it was backed by strength. This is the truth he pursued and for which he had to pay a heavy price. But the action taken by IAF has made us all worthy to remember Sawarkar,” said Bhagwat.
The RSS chief also said the slogans of “Vande Mataram and “Jai Shree Ram” were not hollow. “They are more relevant in these times when there is need to strengthen the Hindu community so that no power in world looked at it with evil eye,” he said.
Responding to the felicitation on being bestowed with Sawarkar Gaurav Puraskar, Dr Bhatkar stressed on the significance of using Sanskrit language for computer technology. He wanted the country to give more importance to the ancient language.
Earlier in the day, RSS general secretary Suresh Joshi issued a statement in New Delhi that the air strikes caused no harm to the Pakistani army and civilians which is tune with the “Bharatiya” (Indian) culture.
The air strikes have translated the angry feelings of Indians following the Pulwama attack into action, the RSS statement said and congratulated the government and the IAF for the action.
