Forensic experts will now be training officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in faster analysis of digital data seized during investigation along with cyber forensics. DRI has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU) to strengthen its digital and cyber forensic operations. The MoU was signed on Monday between DP Dash, Principal DG of DRI and Dr JM Vyas, DG, GFSU.
As per the MoU, both DRI and GFSU have decided to contribute to exchange of information on research and educational programmes; organize seminars, conferences and workshops on topics of mutual interest, use the expertise, facilities and resources available with each other, and develop infrastructural facilities at various centres of DRI. The MoU will be a big step for DRI ineffective commercial frauds and anti-smuggling investigations as it will result in better-trained manpower in the field of digital and cyber forensics.
