Share market update: Realty shares bleed; Prestige Estates falls nearly 4%

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 96.40 points at 10,783.70 while the BSE Sensex was down 326.31 points at 35,887.07.

NEW DELHI: Realty shares fell for the second session on Tuesday morning with its sectoral index down over 2 per cent.

The Nifty Realty index was trading 2.46 per cent down at 225.75 around 10:48 am.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects (down 3.81 per cent) , Indiabulls Real Estate (down 3.76 per cent) , Sunteck Realty (down 3.54 per cent) , and Phoenix Mills (down 3.00 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Oberoi Realty (down 2.68 per cent) , DLF (down 2.17 per cent) , Sobha (down 2.15 per cent) and Godrej Properties (down 1.57 per cent) too were trading with losses.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Motherson Sumi, Vedanta , SAIL, SBI, Bank of Baroda and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
