In their first game since a 4-0-1 road trip and the NHL trade deadline, the Bruins kicked off a six-game homestand by beating the Sharks to extend their points streak to 14 games.

BOSTON -- The unveiling surpassed the fanfare.

The Bruins, who addressed second- and third-line issues in advance of the NHL trade deadline as other teams landed bigger names, put their new lineup on display in impressive fashion on Tuesday night in a 4-1 victory over the Sharks.

Brad Marchand had a goal and two assists, and David Krejci scored a goal and an assist, as the B’s kicked off a six-game homestand by extending their points streak to 14 games, at 10-0-4. It’s their longest points streak since a 10-0-4 run from Dec. 16 to Jan. 25 of last season.

The Bruins, coming off a 4-0-1 road swing that included a 6-5, overtime win over the Sharks, played at home for the first time since Feb. 12.

Weymouth native Charlie Coyle, acquired last Wednesday from the Wild, played his first home game as a Bruin, centering Joakim Nordstrom and David Backes. Marcus Johansson, obtained from the Devils, just before Monday’s 3 p.m. deadline, made his debut with the B’s, skating at right wing with the Jake DeBrusk-Krejci left wing-center tandem. Coyle, Johansson and Backes played together on the Bruins’ second power play unit.

Coyle gave himself a tremendous opportunity on his first shift, cutting off a pass by the Sharks’ Evander Kane inside the offensive blue line and giving himself a clean break-in against goalie Martin Jones. Defenseman Justin Braun caught and slashed Coyle as he took the puck to his backhand, though, and the B’s came up empty on the ensuing power play.

Both teams’ power play units scored before the first period ended, though. The Sharks took a 1-0 lead at 12:47, when Logan Couture chopped Zdeno Chara’s deflected pass between Jaroslav Halak’s right pad and the near post.

The Bruins answered at 14:30, just 10 seconds after Timo Meier took a double minor penalty for high-sticking DeBrusk. The tying goal was a Krejci one-timer from the left circle, after Patrice Bergeron won a faceoff, and Marchand and Torey Krug traded passes until Krejci was open.

The Bruins blitzed the Sharks for three goals within 3:19 to make it 4-1 by the end of the second period.

Charlie McAvoy started the attack with his fifth goal of the season at 9:19. He followed his own breakout pass to Danton Heinen, which Heinen chipped to Marchand, and then shouldered his way inside a check to take Marchand’s pass and score from the slot.

DeBrusk hit the 20-goal mark for the first time just 37 seconds later. DeBrusk beat a check along the left wing boards inside the Sharks’ blue line, fed Johansson, and headed for the net as Krejci drove for the post to Jones’ left. Johansson hit Krejci with a pass there, and Krejci sent the puck across the crease to DeBrusk for a tap-in at 9:46.

Marchand scored shorthanded at 12:28, after taking a pass from Bergeron at center ice and going 1-on-1 against Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson, who had missed the previous game with a groin injury and briefly left Tuesday’s game earlier in the period. Marchand beat Karlsson easily, then put a backhander between Jones’ legs.
