Three held for robbing liquor firm manager

Kanpur: Police have cracked the sensational loot case of February 3 with the arrest of three persons, following an encounter near Mandhana crossing in Bithoor on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The arrested miscreants were identified as mastermind of the loot Anurag Yadav and his two aides--Himanshu and Ankit.
Three bike-borne robbers had looted Rs 4.44 lakh in cash from the manager and salesman of the liquor firm near Ganga barrage under Bithoor police station on February 3 aternoon.
“Interestingly, Anurag, who was also the complainant, and used to work as a salesman in a liquor firm, had planned the loot with his aides Himanshu, Ankit, Sunny and Ajay,” said SP (West) Sanjiv Suman. Later, Anurag roped in Himanshu, Sunny and Ajay to execute the loot committed as per the plan, wherein he, along with the liquor firm manager Arun Anand, carried cash collected from various liquor shops to the firm’s Civil Lines office on a two-wheeler, the SP said. During probe, it was found that liquor salesman Anurag Yadav was involved in the loot, he added.
Police recovered cash worth Rs 4.5 lakh besides a country-made pistol, two live catridges and a high end bike from their possession. “During investigation, we tracked the gang, and after their arrest, they revealed their involvement in February 3 loot case,” the SP said further.
The police, on the basis of specific tip-off, raided hideouts of two other aides--Sunny and Ajay, who are absconding.
