Fake walls, one bathroom and a vending machine in a dingy old warehouse: The VERY unglamorous location where the Married At First Sight dinner parties and commitment ceremonies are REALLY filmed

The lavish location of Married At First Sight's weekly dinner parties and commitment ceremonies isn't as glamorous as it appears on TV.

Although the couples are filmed being chauffeur driven to the destination each week, the cameras fail to capture them then being dumped on an industrial estate.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that each year the show hires a warehouse in Sydney's Lilyfield, which they transform for TV with several sneaky camera tricks.

For example, the sliding door on the rustic brick wall which the couples make their grand arrival through week is surprisingly fake.

Many other walls are also custom built and erected around hired furniture, in order to create the intimate environment shown on television.

In reality, the set is a bare 1200sqm loft space with no such fixtures or furniture.

Likewise, the cosy environment created by low-hanging ambient pendant lights is also misleading, with harsh looking wooden beams hidden above.

While the 'experts' appear to be in a private room of their own watching the action unfold from afar, their space is simply built in nearby corner of the loft.

During a dramatic moment from Sunday's commitment ceremony, Ines Basic gave fans a rare view behind the scenes as she fled the set.

As the cameras desperately tried to follow her, one shot showed the brunette walking alongside piles of props in the direction of another set build.

Similarly, one recent picture of Elizabeth Sobinoff revealed her slumped by a huge production box, drinking from a disposable coffee cup.

Martha Kalifatidis recently shared a photograph while filming at the space too, with 'husband' Michael Brunelli posing by a vending machine on the ground floor.

The space is owned by Legs On The Wall, who specialise in physical theatre and own several large spaces on the industrial estate.

Studio 1, which is hired by Married At First Sight each year, comes with a hefty rental price tag of $7,000 a week.

Unfortunately for the cast, despite looking great on television, it only has one bathroom available on the top floor.

It is thought the space is reserved for several months for Nine, from approximately the start of October to the end of January.

To hire the space for this long would cost approximately $112,000.

In recent weeks, the MAFS loft has become an unlikely tourist spot.

As it is visible on Sydney's Inner-west popular Bay Run, many locals have been stopping mid-way round to snap a photograph of the location.
