Seven more test positive for swine flu in city
tnn | Feb 27, 2019, 04:00 ISTSurat: Seven people tested positive for swine flu in the city on Tuesday. This took the number of people infected by the virus from January 1 to date to 100. Only one patient has succumbed to the virus in the city this season.
A 92-year-old man from Utran, a 37-year-old man from Udhna, a 55-year-old woman from Karimabad, a 33-year-old woman from Rustampura, a 70-year-old man from Mota Varachha, a 55-year-old man from Varachha and a 48-year-old woman from Yogi Chowk tested positive for swine flu.
Twenty-five swine flu patients are still receiving treatment in hospitals in the city. Condition of 22 is stated to be stable whereas two are on ventilators Dr Ashish Naik, deputy commissioner of health, Surat Municipal Corporation, said, “We have set up an early detection system in the city. Patients suffering from fever, cough, cold and sore throats are being referred to health centres.”
