LS polls: Chandigarh CEO reviews preparations

CHANDIGARH: Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, UT (Chandigarh) chief electoral officer (CEO) Ajoy Kumar Sinha held a review meeting on Tuesday at UT Secretariat with the nodal officers.
The officials discussed key issues such as updation of electoral rolls, timely distribution of voter ID cards, polling station arrangements, strengthening of manpower, expenditure monitoring, swift flow of communication and requirements of officers.
The CEO laid emphasis on maximizing SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation programme) activities in rural areas, government offices, colleges, schools and prominent locations for increasing awareness and participation in the electoral process.
