Tuesday's weather: Rain across most of SA, but not in the Northern Cape

Isolated and scattered showers are expected in most parts of the country, but not the Northern Cape, on Tuesday.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Northern Cape, except in the west. Similar conditions have been predicted for the western parts of the North West and the north-eastern parts of the Little Karoo of the Western Cape, according to the South African Weather Service.

The temperature along the coast is expected to be mainly warm and hot weather has been predicted for the East Coast.

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Morning fog patches are expected along the escarpment of Mpumalanga. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers. It will be hot in the Lowveld.

Morning fog is expected along the escarpment of Limpopo. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and hot with isolated afternoon thundershowers. It will be very hot in the Western Bushveld.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in the central and eastern parts, but very hot in the extreme west.

The Free State is expected to be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers, except the west.

Morning fog patches are expected along the coast of the Northern Cape where it will be cool. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm to hot, but very hot in the north.

It will be fine in the Western Cape, becoming partly cloudy and warm over the Central Karoo. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cool with scattered showers and rain along the south-west and south coast but isolated over the adjacent interior.

The Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Morning fog is expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm but hot in the east.  It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers in the west and extreme south.
