Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Varma in important roles is receiving rave reviews. The movie, which is loosely based on Mumbai rappers Naezy and Divine has been warmly embraced by audience. After getting thunderous applause at Berlin Film Festival, Gully Boy opened to Rs 19.40 crore. While with Gully Boy, Ranveer has once again proved his acting prowess, Siddhant and Vijay, who played MC Sher and Moeen bhai respectively have emerged to be shining stars.
Recently, the actors of the film- Ranveer, Siddhant and Vijay along with director Zoya Akhtar visited a multiplex in Mumbai. Their surprise visit left the audience in aww. On a related note, Gully Boy is also the second highest opener of Ranveer after Simmba. Gully Boy raked in Rs 19.40 crore on day 1. Gully Boy also features Vijay Raaz, Amruta Subhash, Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Maurya among others.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan is also impressed with Gully Boy. The megastar sent a token of love and appreciation to Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi. The actors received flowers and a heart-warming note from Big B. While Alia played Safeena and Ranveer played Murad, newbie Siddhant essayed the role of Murad's mentor, MC Sher in the flick.
