Two more infants found in Ammathottil

Two girls have been received in Ammathottil, the new high-tech electronic cradle of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare at Thycaud here.

On Friday afternoon, an infant weighing 2.37 kg was received in the Ammathottil, while another baby weighing 3.54 kg was received on Saturday evening. Both the girls are healthy.

The girls have been named Kasturba after Kasturba Gandhi whose 75th death anniversary is being observed, and Lini after Lini Sajeesh, the nurse who lost her life while caring for patients of Nipah virus infection.

The new-look Ammathottil was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on February 1. A six-day-old boy was found in the cradle the very next day. He was named Abdul Kalam.
