Trichy Corporation opens 14 free buttermilk distribution outlets

The outlets are opened near bus stops and educational and religious institutions. TRICHY: The Trichy Corporation opened buttermilk distribution outlets in 14 spots across the city on Monday. The outlets will serve buttermilk free of cost for the next three months to prevent dehydration in people exposed to sunlight for a long time.
Most of these outlets are opened near bus stops and educational and religious institutions.
“The distribution outlets sponsored by the civic body will open by 8am every day and remain open till the stocks are completely over. At least 500-600 people will be benefited from each outlet daily,” a corporation official said.
Officials said the number of outlets would be increased gradually.
The Trichy Corporation has been pursuing the practice of providing buttermilk and potable water to people since 2016.
