After Shah’s broadside against CM

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh hit back at Amit Shah on Monday, a day after the BJP chief accused him of “halting” development work in the State. “The BJP, along with its ally Shiromani Akali Dal, are resorting to lies in their desperate bid to reclaim the lost political ground in Punjab,” the Chief Minister claimed.

“From their witch-hunts against opposition leaders to their ridiculous accusations and claims, the BJP leaders are resorting to all kind of tactics to get back into the public limelight, which the Modi government had completely lost with its non-performance over the past five years,” said Capt. Amarinder here.

“The SAD-BJP government had failed to take a single initiative for the people of Punjab, with the BJP at the Centre also failing to come out in support of the State despite the financial crisis faced by it,” he said.

String of posers

Reacting to the BJP national president’s criticism of his government, Capt. Amarinder hit back with a list of questions for Mr. Shah: “What have they (SAD-BJP) done for the farmers? What did they do all these years to check stubble burning? What incentives have they given to industry? How many jobs did they give the youth? Who pushed the youth into drugs?”

“If they (SAD-BJP) were really concerned about the common man, why did they allow farmers to continue to end their lives instead of rescuing them from their massive debts,” the Chief Minister asked.
