How will government double farm income: Kumari Selja
Jaskaran Singh | TNN | Feb 25, 2019, 12:00 ISTAMBALA: “The government has insulted farmers with their attempt to purchase votes with Rs 17 per day. It cannot fool farmers any more. The Modi government should clarify how it is planning to double the income of farmers with Rs 6,000 per year,” said Kumari Selja, former MP from Ambala and Rajya Sabha member.
Selja was attending a rally on Sunday, organised by a former Ambala City municipal councillor (MC) Himmat Singh.
Pointing out that Priyanka Gandhi’s political debut has revitalised young workers of the party, Selja said that this comes at a time when BJP has betrayed the public with false promises and mislead the nation on various sensitive issues. “BJP and RSS would have to answer the nation on the deaths of our soldiers and increased terrorist attacks during their tenure. Amit Shah has introduced the word jumla to the nation and it is their government that has proven to be a ‘jumlebaj sarkar’,” said Selja.
According to Selja, elections are the real test and that code of conduct would be imposed any time now. “We should be ready for elections.”
