Sangareddy MLA and senior Congress leader T. Jayaprakash Reddy aka Jagga Reddy continued his attack on Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao, blaming him yet again for the diversion of Singur water and urged Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to ensure that erstwhile Medak district doesn’t suffer because of it.
He said there is severe water shortage ahead of Edupayala Jatara, a local festival that attracts lakhs of devotees from across the State, due to diversion of water from Singur and Mr. Harish Rao has to take responsibility for it.
In an informal chat with reporters, he said he hopes Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao responds to his request to “undo” what Mr. Harish Rao did as Irrigation Minister in the previous government.
Mr. Reddy alleged that Mr. Harish Rao tried his best to ruin him politically in the district but rejected the argument that he was acting on behalf of the Chief Minister. “Why will Mr. KCR ask to me target Mr. Harish Rao? Even if he does, I will not do it for his reasons,” he said.
When his response was sought on the budget, he said Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramarka would respond to that.
The CLP leader and the TPCC chief will speak on whether the Chief Minister was right or wrong with regard to decisions taken by the government, he said.
Mr. Jagga Reddy said the Congress party is still strong and would come back to power if it plays its cards well: “The TRS is confident of winning all the 16 seats and so is the Congress.”
Praises Uttam
He complimented TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, saying that he sincerely worked for the party and allegations made against him during the elections are false. “He is not the kind of person who will be sold out,” he said, adding that he might have called TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao for people’s issues as he was the power centre. “But the media twisted the remarks of Mr. Uttam,” he said.
He added that those leaving the party do so because of their own weaknesses.
