Visakhapatnam: Death toll in suspected industrial spirit tragedy rises to 6

VISAKHAPATNAM: The death toll in the suspected industrial spirit tragedy that has hit two colonies in Gajuwaka in Vizag city has risen to six, with three more people, including two women dying in the wee hours on Monday while they were undergoing treatment at KG Hospital in Vizag city.
Three people, including a woman,died and eleven people were hospitalized, after they consumed suspected industrial spirit at Uppara Colony and Swatantra Nagar of Pedagantyada Mandal under Gajuwaka police station limits in Vizag city on Sunday.
Inspector of Gajuwaka police station K Rama Rao confirmed that the death toll in the tragedy has risen to six and the death toll is expected to rise. A team of doctors would conduct viscera examinations on the bodies to find out whether which chemical led to the death of the six persons, the police added. Those who died in the tragedy are daily wage earners.
