Notice to education society for lawn, hall on nazul land
Anjaya Anparthi | TNN | Updated: Feb 26, 2019, 05:44 ISTNAGPUR: The district administration on Monday issued show cause notice to CP and Berar Educational Society, directing it to submit within two days permissions related to banquet hall and lawn developed on the premises of Prahar Military School.
TOI had on Monday reported how the society, in association with Jog Caterers, developed a banquet hall and lawn on the school premises at Ravi Nagar on Telangkhedi-Hanuman Mandir Road. After the report by TOI, officials of district administration, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), and fire department had inspected the premises and confirmed that the banquet hall and lawn were developed without building plan sanction and fire NOC. Also, it was confirmed that they were on nazul land leased out by the district administration for educational purpose at a nominal rate, and hence it cannot be utilized for commercial purposes.
Taking cognisance of TOI report and inspection, deputy collector (nazul) Ravindra Kumbhare issued notice to the society. “Commercial use has come to fore on nazul land. Submit permissions taken from competent authority for commercial use,” the notice said.
Further action will be taken after receiving a reply from the society.
On Monday, station officer of Civil Lines Fire Station Rajendra Dubey also inspected the banquet hall and lawn. Dubey will submit a report to chief fire officer Rajendra Uchake before any action is initiated.
NMC sources said the banquet hall and lawn lack fire systems, which is mandatory for any commercial structure. Earlier, NMC Dharampeth Zone had issued notice to the society directing it to submit documents.
Jog Caterers is learnt to have the taken on the operation and maintenance of the banquet hall and lawn for 10 years.
Earlier, the society denied violations and said they have all permissions. The firm said the banquet hall and lawn will be brought into use after obtaining necessary permissions.
