Phone tapping: HC asks Centre for records on YSR Cong's charges

The on Monday directed the Centre to submit records, if any, in connection with the alleged phone tapping of some Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSR) leaders.

Justice Najmi Waziri, however, said he is not issuing any formal notice to the Centre on the plea filed by party's former parliamentarian Y.V. and five others, including Jaganmohan Reddy's personal and political assistants, alleging "illegal technical surveillance".

The court will hear the matter again on March 19.

The YSRCP leaders' petition has sought the court's direction to authorities concerned to forthwith end "technical surveillance".

They have also pleaded necessary legal action against authorities, and asked the court to seek explanation in what circumstances they were put under surveillance.
