GREATER NOIDA: BJP leader Teja Gurjar along with four others has been booked for allegedly assaulting and conspiring against a 95-year-old man in a bid to illegally obtain his property.
“Due to my age, I face health issues almost every day. On January 14, Jay Singh, Gurjar and 3 others came to my house and said that they would take me to hospital. But they took me to the Greater Noida Authority office and forcefully took my thumbprint on my property papers and transferred the same to Parvinder Nagar. When I objected, they assaulted me leading to a fracture in my hip bone,” Atar Singh told police.
An FIR was registered against the five under releant sections of the IPC at Knowledge Park police station. “We are verifying the allegations and action will be taken if the accusations are found to be true,” said Arvind Pathak, SHO of Knowledge Park police station.
When contacted, Gurjar said the allegations were false and said, “Singh is known to us and the land in question was acquired by the Authority in 1998 but its legal papers were not made. In July 2014, Singh sold the land to my brother for Rs 23 lakh. When we asked him to refund our money, he filed a case against us.”
