A mega
blood donation drive was initiated by Rotary clubs in the twin cities in coordination with
Indian Red Cross Society on the occasion the birth anniversary of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary, on Saturday at Our Sacred Space.
Forty people of various ages came forward to donate the blood out of which 16 had low haemoglobin levels, while the 24 others successfully donated their blood.
President Parthasarathy of Rotary Club
Secunderabad along with President Sreenidhi of Rotary Club Bhagya Nagar coordinated on behalf of their respective clubs and co-hosted the camp from 9 am to 2 pm.
President Parthasarathy thanked all the donors for their noble gesture. "Someone somewhere is battling for life for lack of blood in emergency situations. In obstetrics, timely transfusions have saved many lives in sudden and severe antepartum and postpartum haemorrhage. Hence we should present all honour and gratitude to those who selflessly offer their life’s blood to help their fellowmen," he said.
