JAMSHEDPUR: Chief minister Raghubar Das, said his government is pursuing the 'house for all' goal while reiterating his claim to provide a house to every family in the state by next year.
Das laid the foundation stone of the proposed 12,072 residential flats, to be build under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (urban) in Birsanagar and Bagunngar, with a cost of Rs 867 crore. He said, "The state government has worked out arrangements with the banks to ensure easy loans to the beneficiaries."
Noting that each of the two-rooms flat will cost between Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 5.5 lakh, Das said Central government will give Rs 1.5 lakh subsidy and the state government will give subsidy of Rs 1 lakh, respectively. "Banks will provide easy loan to pay the remaining amount of the cost. Beneficiaries will have to repay the loan through EMI in a period of 14 years (maximum)," he added.
The housing colonies will have all the modern civic facilities. Das said the sewerage system, parks, street lights, roads and tap water connectivity will be compatible to the normal flats that are built in the towns. "Jusco will provide tap water and electricity to the PM awas flats," Das said.
