Tragedy as British tourist, 68, drowns at a New Zealand beach while swimming with his family

- Mr Massey got into trouble in the water at about 6pm, police said on Sunday
A 68-year-old tourist from the United Kingdom has drowned in New Zealand.
Andrew Massey, from Kent, had been swimming with family friends at Ocean Beach in Tairua, on the North Island of New Zealand, on Saturday.
Mr Massey got into trouble in the water at about 6pm, police said on Sunday.

The 68-year-old was brought to shore and CPR was attempted but he was unable to be resuscitated.
New Zealand police extended their condolences to Mr Massey's family.
'Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones,' they said in a statement.
Mr Massey's death will be referred to the Coroner.
Tairua is located on the is on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula and is south-east of Auckland.
