Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was compelled to wind up his Chandigarh rally address within a few minutes of starting it due to a poor turn up at the rally venue.
Arvind Kejriwal hurriedly concluded his address with an apology saying that he has another rally scheduled in Haryana.
Arvind Kejriwal had to address the rally at 1:30 pm but the thin presence of spectators compelled him to delay his address by one hour. Despite it being a Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party failed to gather an adequate number of spectators.
In his brief address, Arvind Kejriwal attacked Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Chandigarh Kirron Kher and accused her of skipping Lok Sabha and Chandigarh both.
"How often have you seen Kirron Kher in Chandigarh? She is a busy actress and lives in Mumbai. Can you list even a single development work done by her?" Arvind Kejriwal asked people.
Interestingly, many people of Chandigarh are also not happy with Kirron Kher as she rarely visits Chandigarh.
The AAP will not be fielding a Bollywood star for Lok Sabha from Chandigarh constituency this time and has chosen former BJP leader Harmohan Dhavan as its candidate.
What remains to be seen is whether the BJP puts its bets on Kirron Kher again or not.
In the previous election, the BJP had a vote share of 42.2 per cent vote, and was followed by the Congress with 26.8 per cent vote share and the AAP with 24 per cent vote share.
