CPI(M) leader had hit out at ‘feudal attitude’ of NSS

Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair on Saturday expressed outrage at the remarks made by CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan against the NSS and warned him of crossing the limits.

In a statement, Mr. Nair said the NSS very well knew how to give a fitting reply to such slanderous remarks though the culture of the organisation did not permit him to do so. He was responding to a statement by Mr. Balakrishnan asking the NSS to keep its feudal attitude with itself.

Protection of faith

“It does not hold good for anybody to think that they can speak just anything about anyone only because they enjoy a position of power. We are not afraid of it at all,” read the statement.

He further noted that the two entities, which had worked with mutual respect for a very long period, parted only owing to the differences of opinion regarding the protection of faith.

“Right from the beginning, our stance on this issue has been clear and consistent. No one should overlook the fact that the NSS has the organisational strength and vigour to overcome any attempts to insult its leadership or to create divisions within,” Mr. Nair added.
