Cook asks his colleague to lower volume, stabbed in neck

BENGALURU: A 23-year-old cook was stabbed by his colleague at their accommodation facility on Kaggadasapura Main Road, east Bengaluru. His mistake was that he insisted the accused reduce the volume of his sound system.
The victim, Bharathi S, a native of Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and the accused, Pullak Das, worked at Homely restaurant on Kaggadasapura Main Road. They were staying at an accommodation facility provided by the restaurant for its employees.
According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday night around 11.30pm. Bharathi, who was asleep, was disturbed after Pullak Das, who stayed in the next room, played loud music. Bharathi asked Das to reduce the volume, which the latter refused.
They picked up a fight during which Das stabbed Bharati in his neck before fleeing from the spot. Bharathi, who was profusely bleeding, called his friend Varun Raj over phone and was later shifted to a private hospital. He has 26 stitches on his neck.
Byappanahalli police arrested Das based on a complaint from the victim and produced him before a local court.
