Bird race to cover Morni, Chhatbir, Nepli today

CHANDIGARH: Bird lovers will get a chance to explore new species of birds and meet other bird enthusiasts at bird race event on Sunday. At the events bird watchers - beginners to experts - from seven to 81 years of age will be seen chasing birds around Inter State Chandigarh Region (ISCR).
After spending the whole day watching birds, participants are expected to join an interactive session to share their experiences. Members of Chandigarh Bird Club are the chief coordinators of this year's bird race event. Chandigarh teams will cover areas like Timber Trail, Morni hills, Chhatbir, Mirzapur dam, Siswan dam, Nepli, Kansal forests and Sukhna Lake.
The most exciting aspect of the event is that it offers a unique platform to beginners, especially children, who will be spending their entire day with experienced birdwatchers, spotting and identifying as many species of birds as possible. Region's most experienced birdwatchers will navigate the teams.
The event is also aimed at generating awareness among people about the bird life surrounding the region.
