Narendra Modi remembered the sacrifice of 40 brave hearts who were martyred in the
Pulwama terrorist attack. Prime Minister Modi reflected upon the valiance of the soldiers and said there is a deluge of emotions pouring out across the nation.
"As a consequence of the Pulwama terror attack and sacrifice of brave jawans, people across country are agonized and enraged. All around, there is a deluge of strong feelings of sympathy for the martyrs & their family members," the Prime Minister said.
He said that the Indian Army has resolved to wipe out the terrorists and their supporters. He also shared the stories of courage shown by family members of those who sacrificed their lives for their country.
On putting up a brave fight against
terrorism, the Prime Minister asked all Indians to set aside barriers of casteism, communalism and regionalism.
Prime Minister Modi declared the completion of the much awaited
National War Memorial. "Tomorrow, that is on the 25th of February, crores of we Indians will dedicate this National Soldiers’ Memorial to our Armed Forces," PM Modi said.
Describing the National War Memorial, the prime Minister said that it is based on the concept of four concentric circles depicting the journey of a soldier from the beginning until his martyrdom.
The four concentric circles are: Amar Chakra symbolizes immortality of the martyred soldier, Veerta Chakra depicts courage and bravery of our soldiers, Tyag Chakra stands for sacrifice of our soldiers, Rakshak Chakra depicts spirit of security.
He urged people to visit the National War Memorial and the National Police Memorial, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister last year.
The next episode of Mann ki Baat will be broadcast on the last Sunday of May, the Prime Minister said as the elections for the
Lok Sabha are set to be announced anytime soon. "In maintaining respect for healthy democratic traditions, the next episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will be broadcast on the last Sunday of the month of May. With the power of your blessings, once again I shall begin this series of conversations through ‘Mann Ki Baat’… and shall keep doing ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with you for years," the Prime Minister said.
