DHARMASTHALA: Life becomes noble if one understands the essence of dharma and implements it in one’s life, said Acharya Sri 108 Vardhaman Sagar Muni.
Shravakas-Shravikas should strive to create awareness about dharma and involve themselves in creating influence about the religion under guidance of munis and code of conduct laid out for munis that is backed by traditions which has been codified under directions from seers before, he said.
Mahamastakabhisheka
Delivering benedictions after accepting vinayanjali and padapooja to him by D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and family to mark the golden jubilee anniversary of him becoming a muni, Acharya Vardhaman Sagar Muni said the steps taken by Heggade for rural empowerment is worth emulating. He has also worked tirelessly for the empowerment of women and worked for creating a healthy society, the seer said.
Heggade and his family bestowed the title ‘Charya Shiromani’ on the seer to mark the occasion in the form of vinayanjali. In all, 50 types of ‘ashtadravyas’ were used to perform the padapooja through ‘ashtavidharchane’. Yakshagana style dance and musical performance by Jayashree Horanadu and troupe lent special charm to the occasion. Sri Devendrakeerthi Bhattaraka swamiji introduced Acharya Vardhaman Sagar Muni to the gathering.
Heggade also used this occasion to honour heads and members of various committees that worked for successful conduct of the three-day mahamastakabhisheka to the 39-feet tall monolith at Ratnagiri that ended on February 18 and seven days of religious festivities, including Panchamaha Vaibhava prior to that. Personality development happens through such events and may the mahamastakabhisheka help create ideal personalities, Heggade said.
Former minister D Sudhakar and family offered special 1008 kalash mahamastakabhisheka service to the monolith on this occasion. Heggade felicitated the minister and his family for this special service. The organising committee of the anointment event has already announced that these rituals will be performed based on various requests received from members of the Jain community – both from Karnataka and elsewhere.
