Indore: Indore Police showed their mettle on Saturday when they managed to recover the purse of a woman who had come here from Dubai for a wedding. She had forgotten her purse in a cab while reaching a hotel.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh Chouhan said 23-year-old Nidhi Khatri came to the city from Dubai to attend a marriage function of a relative on Friday. She had lost her purse containing Rs 40000 cash and jewellery, a total of around Rs 3 lakh in a cab while returning to her hotel. She first tried to look for the cab driver and later reached Vijay Nagar police station to lodge a complaint.
Superintendent of Police (east) Mohammad Yusuf Qureshi immediately reached the police station and instructed the staff to trace the cab driver as soon as possible. On the instruction, SI PL Sharma, constable Govind and Jagdish started search for the cab driver. Finally, they managed to trace the cab and recovered the purse containing cash and jewellery. The valuables have been handed over to Nidhi at the police station.
