HYDERABAD: Six people were injured in an accident on Sultanpur road in Balapur in the wee hours of Sunday.
A car, driven by Praneeth Reddy, a private employee of Alkapuri Colony, rammed into two bikes coming from the opposite direction near Essar Petrol Pump around 4.30 in the morning.
“There was a sharp curve on the road where the accident occured. Praneeth Reddy, who was travelling from Ijtema Ground in Pahadesharif to Mallapur, did not spot the bikes coming from the opposite direction. He rammed his car into both the bikes one after the other, then veered off the road and crashed into a heap of mud on the side of the road,” said P Nagaraju, Balapur SI.

On the second bike, a private employee, Mallesh, from Sri Sai Colony in Balapur, his wife Jyothy and their children, Sai Tej and Laxita were travelling. Police said all members of the family fractured their legs, but none of them is critical.
Praneeth Reddy suffered a head injury and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Police checked his blood alcohol content and it was nil. A case was registered against Praneeth under section 338 of the IPC.
