Most of us look at the streaming of entertainment videos as a leisure activity, including me.  Where health is concerned, relying on information on the Internet is becoming increasingly unreliable unless you know the credible sites to go to. However if you are genuinely interested in understanding not just how to stay healthy but also reduce your risk of cancer, there are some wonderful documentaries that you should be watching which are being streamed on Netflix, Amazon and other such platforms. In this column, I want to push you to open your minds to 3 such documentaries which have also impacted me and will help you rise to a different level of understanding on how the power of physical and emotional nutrition can be miraculous. Here they are:

Heal. This documentary features the likes of Deepak Chopra, Bruce Lipton, Marianne Williamson, Michael Beckwith, Gregg Braden, Anita Moorjani, Anthony William the Medical Medium, and focuses on the power of the mind to overcome incurable lifestyle diseases and autoimmune diseases as well as cancer. It is not just a spiritual journey, there are case studies, facts and incidents on how we can, via meditation and changing our perspectives towards disease, can overcome these diseases, including cancer. As someone who has come out of an incurable autoimmune disease myself with these techniques, I would strongly recommend that each one of you who reads my column regularly, watches this. We all know that cancer is becoming an epidemic and while it may not spare some of us, overcoming cancer is becoming much easier if 50% of our lives is focused on physical nutrition and the other 50% on emotional nutrition via meditation. This documentary shows us the proof.

The Mystery of Sleep. This is actually quite an old documentary and very basic in nature. However, for most of you who are working crazy hours, travelling across the world and changing time zones, it is extremely important to understand your sleep cycles and how enough sleep is required for you to be healthy. Not just the quantity of sleep but also the quality of sleep is discussed here, which will give you an insight into how to wake up fresh instead of feeling tired.

The C-Word. As the name is demonstrating clearly, this documentary is about cancer. Case studies on people who have overcome cancer with focusing on nutrition and a better lifestyle with moderate exercise, doctors who have adapted these and scientists who have shown in the lab that eating your vegetables can reverse even the toughest of tumours by 90% without any allopathic interventions, form the backbone of this documentary.

So why am I sharing these with you? In the world where you work, you have less time for self nurturing. When you download these on your laptop, iPad or mobile phone, watching these documentaries in a flight or a car will feed your brain with a positive energy about making that key change in your lifestyle which goes way beyond saying stuff like, " I drink green tea," or " I'll play cricket on the weekend with my kids," or " I have stopped eating red meat regularly." Making a lifestyle change for the better is multidimensional in nature because our human body and mind respond and react in multidimensional ways to stress and disease. These documentaries will actually help you open your mind to healing yourself and motivating you to change your lifestyle. Ultimately, isn't the goal of my column helping you live longer and healthier?

If it is, then feeding your brain with the positivity of nutrition, rest, meditation, moderate exercise is demonstrated in these. Go watch.
