Three people were arrested in a raid on a house at HarolaNOIDA: Three people were arrested in a raid on a house at Harola in Sector 5, Noida on Sunday afternoon. They were caught red-handed while allegedly betting via online platforms.
Two of the accused — Ajeet and Amarjeet — are from Aheri village in Hardoi, UP and the other accused Manish is from Dawoodpur in Chhapra, Bihar.
Rajveer Singh Chauhan, SHO at Sector 20 police station, said, “Acting on a tip-off, we raided the house where the men were caught making calls to the betters who switched off their phones after the raid.”Around Rs 23,000 in cash, three mobile phones and a diary with names of the bookies were recovered from the spot. “We are examining the circumstantial evidence to assert their roles and criminal history,” said Chauhan. They were booked under Section 13 of the Public Gambling Act.
