Police search for man who failed to appear in court over stalking
Queensland police are searching for a man who failed to appear in court over a stalking matter on Brisbane's north side.
John Amundsen failed to appear in court on February 19 for a hearing.
The magistrate had then issued a warrant for his arrest.
Police have since been searching for the Mr Amundsen, 53, who was last seen at an address in Aspley.
Police said they believe he might be using public transport to travel around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 170 centimetres tall, of a slim build with a shaved head and blue eyes.
He sometimes has grey facial hair and might wear glasses.
Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said police were actively working to find Mr Amundsen, who they believe was avoiding them.
"We've got some concerns ... he was granted bail by the court," he said.
"The court put some conditions on him and he has not met the conditions of the court and on that basis, we think it's appropriate that we find him."
Superintendent Fleming said he was calling on Mr Amundsen to make himself known and called on the community to help find him.
"It's a matter that we believe that it's appropriate that the matters before the court are resolved as soon as practicable and we consider it important that he is located and put before the court," he said.
Superintendent Fleming said Mr Armunsden's alleged victims had been made aware of his disappearance.
Anyone who sees Mr Amundsen is urged to not approach him but to call triple zero.
