Arunachal not to table report on PRC after shutdown turns violent

The government on Friday decided not to table the (JHPC) report on Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) to non-Scheduled Tribe communities of and districts following violent protests.

Union of State for Home Affairs spoke to Khandu on Friday and appealed to everyone for peace.

"Violence will help nobody. The State govt has assured that the rights and constitutional safeguards of the indigenous people will be protected at any cost," Rijiju tweeted.

The Minister said the government has decided not to table the JHPC report in the current Assembly Session.
