Former Union Minister hits back on Twitter.

In response to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s swipe at the Congress for hiring Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda (retd.) to author the party’s vision paper on national security, P. Chidambaram hit back in a series of tweets saying that the BJP did not care for expert advice.

While Mr. Jaitley “debunked” the Congress, he should have added to his comment that the BJP needs no advice as it has Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr. Chidambaram quipped on Twitter.

Mr. Jaitley on Friday took a potshot at the Congress, saying it was “intriguing” that the party which ruled India for half a century needed to be educated on national security issues.

“Mr. Jaitley has debunked the Congress for requesting General Hooda to advise on national security. He should have added BJP needs no advice because it has Mr. Modi,” Mr Chidambaram wrote, in the first of a series of tweets.

The former Finance Minister further said the BJP did not need someone like Raghuram Rajan to head the Reserve Bank of India “because it has Mr. Modi”.

“BJP does not need a Planning Commission, because it has Mr. Modi. BJP does not need a National Statistics Commission, because it has Mr. Modi,” Mr. Chidambaram said on Twitter.

He added, “Actually, BJP does not need a Cabinet, because it has Mr. Modi.”

Mr. Chidambaram also said he was waiting to see if the Mr. Modi would take action against Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy for his tweet supporting a ban on Kashmiri goods.
