All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Member of Parliament S. Rajendran from Villupuram was killed in a road accident in Tindivanam near here on Saturday. He was 62.
According to police, the accident took place at around 6.30 a.m. Mr. Rajendran, who was staying in the Circuit House in Tindivanam, was on his way to Chennai.
The MP’s driver Anbuselvam, while coming out of the Circuit House, lost control of the vehicle and rammed it into a central median.

Mr. Rajendran sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. The driver has been admitted to the Tindivanam GH. Further investigations are on. Mr. Rajendran was elected from Villupuram (Reserved) constituency in the 2014 elections.
