GURUGRAM: As the Haryana government is preparing to move a bill in the assembly next week to amend the Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA), the law that bars construction activity in large sections of the Aravallis, residents are planning to carry out a march on Sunday morning to protest against it.
The march will start at Khushboo Chowk on Gurugram-Faridabad road.
The demands include - Aravalis be kept off limits to real estate; forest areas around Gurugram and Faridabad that are protected under PLPA and for which the notifications have expired be re-notified at the earliest; areas such as Mangar Bani, Aravali Biodiversity Park be notified as deemed forests; and the corridor from Asola, Badkhal, Mangar Bani to Damdama lake be declared a wildlife sanctuary.
