TDP national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the party cadres to brace for the 2019 elections with ‘Save Democracy - Save Nation’ as the slogan for a new chapter to begin in the State.

He asserted that candidates would be selected purely on the basis of their chances of victory and popularity among the masses and not other factors. The effort should be to convert popularity into votes, he exhorted.

Addressing a workshop for the party observers representing 54 constituencies here on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said the elections were going to be a test for their leadership skills and political acumen. No effort should be spared in establishing rapport with the voters, he said.

There was no scope for mistakes in politics and every election should be treated as a lesson, he said, adding that those who were dedicated to the party would be duly rewarded with nominated posts.
