A senior Justice Department official on Friday said Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on the Russia probe was not expected next week….

…contrary to multiple media reports that its delivery to Attorney General William Barr was imminent.

THIS as Barr prepares to face a monumental first test in office: Deciding how much of Mueller's report on the Russia probe to make public.

Democrats have been concerned that Barr will limit what's made public.

On Friday, House Democrats wrote him a letter saying they expect Mueller's report to be released in its entirety "without delay and to the maximum extent permitted by law".

During his confirmation hearings last month, Barr pledged to release as much as possible…but stopped short of promising to publicize the entire report.

So far, 34 individuals and three companies have pleaded guilty, been indicted or otherwise swept up in the inquiry… including several former Trump advisers.

But no matter the findings of Mueller's report…Trump's legal scrutiny will be far from over…with newly empowered Democrats in the House ramping up their own investigations of the Trump administration… …and the Mueller probe having spawned several new investigations being handled by other offices… investigations that will carry on after Mueller's work is done.
