Doctors walk extra mile to help out Lalu relief from pain
TNN | Feb 23, 2019, 05:52 ISTRanchi: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad is lucky to have a set of dedicated doctors taking care of his health at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims).
The doctors took prompt action when Prasad developed a toothache on Wednesday. After he complained of discomfort, the former chief minister was immediately examined by a dentist. An x-ray was conducted and the dentist suggested that a decomposed tooth be extracted. Prasad was shifted to dental ward on Friday morning and the tooth was removed, much to his relief.
Dr Umesh Prasad who is overall in-charge of Lalu’s treatment said, “We know how much pain a patient suffers while having a toothache so we did not wait for long. We informed the local police station to provide security to take Lalu from Rims' paying ward to the dental department for the treatment.”
Dr Prasad said that as a doctor, health of the patient was his primary concern. He added that in certain cases they simply cannot wait for the formalities.
When contacted, Ranchi SSP Anis Gupta stated that all security measures were in place when Prasad was shifted from the paying ward.
