Tamil Nadu CM EPS to launch Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi

CHENNAI: Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will launch Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, an income support scheme for farmers at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai in the presence of Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Pon Radhakrishnan. The programme is scheduled to take place at Kalaivanar Arangam on Sunday at 12.30pm.
Small and marginal farmers with a landholding of two hectares will receive the first tranche of Rs 2,000 on Sunday across the country, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching the scheme.
Later, Goyal will also launch a slew of programmes at Chennai Central, including laying of foundation stone for installation of 200 pre-fabricated toilets over Southern Railway under CSR funds from NLC India Limited, and foot overbridge (FOB) at Guindy railway station of Chennai division.
Two pedestrian subways at a level crossing no.32 and 30 at Chengalpet-Tambaram section, and renovated booking office and PRS Centre at Chennai Egmore and the inauguration of booking office at second entry of the railway station will also be opened.
