Over 100 Cars Gutted in Massive Fire at Aero India 2019, Bengaluru
Around 100 cars have been gutted in a massive fire that broke out at the venue for Aero India 2019 in Bengaluru’s Yelahanka on Saturday, 23 February.
Fire brigades rushed to the spot as the fire spread across the parking lot. Apart from the observation chopper, this has brought all other flying operations to a halt. The spot where the blaze raged on is just a few kilometres from the location where the air show is being held.
The fire broke out just moments after badminton star, PV Sindhu, took off in an LCA Fighter.
DG of Police in Karnataka, MN Reddi tweeted that the braze has now been brought under control.
While the cause of the fire is not yet known, The News Minute reported that it could have been a lit cigarette that was thrown into the grass which may have started the fire.
(This is a developing story. More details are awaited.)
