A housekeeping staff of a school in Sector 70 here has been arrested for alleged sexual assault on a three-year-old student earlier this week, the police said on Thursday.
The police said that the 35-year-old accused allegedly molested the girl inside the school’s toilet.
However, it’s not clear as to how many times the alleged assault took place.
The girl had been trying to tell her parents about the incident since Monday, but being very young she could not narrate the ordeal clearly. On Wednesday, the parents finally managed to understand what the child was trying to say. “She had been trying to tell her parents since Monday, but it was only on Wednesday that her parents finally managed to comprehend. On Thursday, they went to her school with the complaint and also called the police control room regarding the incident,” said Station House Officer, Badshahpur, Mukesh Kumar.
A case has been registered under Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of POCSO Act and the accused has been nabbed.
Mr. Kumar said that the accused had been working at the school for over six years. The accused is married and has two children.
